Sugarhouse Shopping

Sugar House Park is one of the most beloved parks in Salt Lake City. It features a large duck pond, multiple playgrounds and pavilions, picnic areas, a rose garden, and much more.

A popular destination for visitors, it is also home to a sledding hill in winter. The 110-acre park is located north of I-80, south of 2100 South, and between 1300 East and 1700 East in the Sugar House neighborhood.

The park is open to pedestrians and cyclists, although parking is limited. It has seven pavilions, soccer and baseball fields, a cement basketball court donated by the Utah Jazz, two playgrounds, and a small amphitheater.

The park is temporarily closed to vehicles because of high pond water levels, according to Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation. Salt Lake County officials say this is part of their long-term plans to protect the community from spring runoff. Next blog post.
