Animal Exhibits

The zoo features animal exhibits representing far-flung corners of the world. From lions, giraffes, and zebras on the African Savanna to great apes; polar and grizzly bears to Asian big cats, there’s something for everyone at Utah’s Hogle Zoo.

The Zoo is also committed to conservation. Many of the animals at the zoo are part of a Species Survival Plan, which helps to ensure genetic diversity among captive populations.

This includes the endangered Amur leopard, a species that’s considered the most threatened big cat in the world. Currently, the zoo’s resident male Dmitri and female Zeya are working to help boost this population.

The zoo also houses orphaned grizzly bear siblings Koda, Dolly, and Lulu, a pair of orca whales, and rescue bald eagles, Nemo and Betsy. The zoo’s biggest conservation program is the “Big Six” program, which works with six organizations to increase the number of six endangered species. More places to also visit by clicking here.

Animals at the Zoo
